WP4 - PQoS models and adaptation
mechanisms
Objectives:
The aim of this WP is to investigate and develop PQoS models for voice and video quality prediction and adaptation mechanisms for voice and video quality optimisation in VoIP and IPTV applications.
Particular objectives include:
- Research and development of Voice Quality context-aware PQoS models
- Research and development of Video Quality context-aware PQoS models
- Research and development of dynamic service adaptation mechanisms for optimising the delivered PQoS level
- Research and Definition of the temporal tolerance of the user-satisfaction to PQoS-degradation situations. The specified temporal threshold will be provided to WP3 and integrated within the PQoS-alarm mechanism of the PQoS monitoring tool at the mobile terminal
- Mapping NQoS parameters (including access and core networks) to voice and video PQoS for VoIP and IPTV applications
Participants: DEM, EHU, UOP, RS, TGV, VOD, ERC, VIO
Description of work:
- Task 4.1 Voice and Video quality PQoS models
- Task 4.2 Subjective aspects, context-awareness and subjective tests
- Task 4.3 Mapping PQoS to DiffServ/MPLS and UMTS Traffic classes
- Task 4.4 Real Time Dynamic content adaptation mechanisms
